Dr. Kazimierz Braun, University at Buffalo Professor Emeritus and former Professor at Wrocław University, Poland, shares his experiences of life and work in Poland under a Communist, totalitarian regime. As a member of the opposition, he was fired from work in Poland in 1984. He was invited to teach in the US and taught at New York University, Swarthmore College, University of California Santa Cruz, and finally at the University at Buffalo.
Prof. Braun will analyze the nature and selected aspects of the totalitarian system as both a witness to the history and as a historian. He will also discuss some worrisome processes which he has observed in America.
